Kolkata: The Australian Education Fair organised by Global Reach, in association with Education Times, on February 6 was an opportunity for Indian students to get an insight on the quality education Australian universities have to offer.
Students and parents were given a chance to interact with representatives from various universities. Representatives from the University of Melbourne, University of South Australia, RMIT University, Deakin University and South Cross University were present at the fair.
The range of courses were aimed at making students ‘industry fit’. “We have programmes in Business Education, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, IT engineering in environment and Journalism. We are very strong in Media Studies,” said Juris Wulfris from the University of South Australia.
Mona Malik, client relations officer, RMIT University, said, “We are very strong in engineering and so we have a lot of students coming from India.”
This was an opportunity for students to explore education opportunities in Australia. The representatives from universities had a thorough knowledge of the students psyche as far as their expectations were concerned.
One question that lingers in every student and parent minds today is of the security concerns in Australia. The representatives regretted the scenario and called it extremely unfortunate. “Students should apply to universities that offer quality education,” advised Malik.
