Chennai: Manonmaniam Sundaranar University (MS University) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the global leader in hi-end Animation and Multimedia training, Arena Animation.
Arena Animation follows the SILM (Students Integrated Learning Model) for the training. Offers BSc degree in Multimedia and Animation course, with 90 credits as per university norms.
R T Sabapathy Mohan, Vice Chancellor, MS University said, that MU and Aptech jointly framed the syllabus and any students have an opportunity to become a digital animator.
The course curriculum will include all modules from Arena Animation's flagship program – Arena Animation Academy Specialist Program (AAASP), and four mandatory modules from MS University-English Language, an elective second language, and two papers of soft skills.
The estimated size of the Indian animation industry is around Rs 1,740 crore and is expected to reach Rs 3,900 crore by 2013. Moreover, Hollywood films are outsourced to India and that would keep increasing.
The course fee is about Rs 1.2 to 2 lakh depending on the city as per university norms.
