Mahe to get Ayurveda Medical College

Puducherry: An Ayurveda Medical College would start functioning in Mahe Region of Puducherry from the next academic year, Puducherry Home and Health Minister E Valsaraj said here today.

Inaugurating the annual conference of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Plastic Surgeons Association, Mr Valsaraj said the decision was taken since patronage for Indian system of medicine was considerable and also popular in Mahe Region as it was in Kerala.

He also said he was glad that Puducherry University had decided to take up collaborative academic programmes with medical colleges affiliated to it and JIPMER.
