Dean of National Management School (NMS), Prof Sankaran P Raghunathan said,While most of the faculty members would comprise those studied from US universities, the cost incurred by students for the same would be almost one-third, he said.

When rest of the market is growing only at six to eight per cent, there has been a 30 per cent growth in the higher education sector, especially for MBA course since 2001. By 2011, it is expected that there would be ten lakh Indian aspirants for this course, Raghunathan said.

'Therefore five US professors (including Raghunathan) decided to set up NMS to provide MBA at an affordable cost,' he said adding out ultimate aim is to make India a hub producing 'global business leaders'.

Fees for two-year MBA at NMS having AACSB accreditation is fixed at Rs 9.6 lakh inclusive of service tax, he said. The newly founded NMS, with over 60 renowned professors from the US as its faculty members, will have five branches nation-wide in the next five years, he told reporters here. the first centre is set up in Chennai and the first batch of 120 students will join the course on June 10 for which the interviews will start from April 14. Other centres will come up in Mumbai-Pune corridor, Delhi-Noida corridor, Bangalore and Hydreabad.
