Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Education department has decided to launch its toll-free Helpline to address the grievances of students in the state, a senior education officer told here today.
State Project Director of Sarav Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Rajesh Sharma said that a complaint forum would be set up in the state to sort out the queries and grievances of students.
SSA is doing exercise to install the facility of Help Line, so that students and their parents could be facilitated to sort out their problems after registering their complaints or issues which would be further conveyed to relevant officers, he said.
The department is already running online websites for the benefit of parents and students but due to inability of most people to work on computers, the website could not get the expected response.
He said that now the SSA has decided to soon launch its Help Line in a more accessible medium, as Himachal Pradesh is among the state having highest density of Telephone in the country.
Meanwhile, similar websites and Help line are being launched for students to keep eye on the ragging issue for students getting higher professional educations to redress their problems.
Mr Sharma said that introducing Help Line to general problem, would be another step forward after successful launching of Toll free Ragging Help Line in the state.
SSA is already engaged in providing financial help to build basic infrastructure facilities like toilets in all primary schools to free school campuses from open defecation beside providing drinking water facility in the government-run schools.
SSA is also doing research work to give consultancy in the field of education to improve the quality education and maintain the enrolment of students in elementary education.
