UGC sanctions Rupees 10,32,300 for reserch project

Tiruchirapalli: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has sanctioned Rupees 10,32,300 to A S Haja Hameed, Assistant Professor, PG and Research Department of Physics, Jamal Mohamed College, here to carry out a major research project.

The resrearch is titled 'crystal growth of technologically important nonlinear optical material: DAST and fabrication of optical devices for ready commercialisation.' According to a release from the college, Dr Haja, earlier worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Chitose Institute of Science and Technology, Japan, National Taiwan University, Taiwan and pursued higher studies in the University of Western Ontario, Canada, the received the Young Scientist Award from the Department of Science and Technology (DST) under fast track scheme, based on his research and over 20 international publications, the release added
