Kolkata: City-based Indismart has signed two MoUs to set up hotel management institutes in Bangkok and Bhutan as part of their look east policy.
Indismart, a firm in the hospitality and education sector, currently runs two hotel management institutes IIHM and IAM. The institues are in Kolkata, Goa and Gurgaon.
The firm is also planning to set up institutes across South East Asia and is in talks with hotels in Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia. Closer to home, Indismart is looking at Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka as potential locations.
“I am confident of inking more deals of greenfield hotel management institutes under IIHM and IAM brands in all these countries in the current year,” said Suborno Bose, founder of Indismart.
Students at both IIHM and IIM study within large hotels and resorts that the institution owns.
The firm already has ties with the UK. “We have tied up with Napier University and Thames Valley for a British degree,” said Bose.
Indismart has in introduced a unique study model unknown to any Indian institutes in India so far wherein for the first time hotel management education happens within pretincts of large operating hotels and resorts owned by the institution itself.
