New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) and the National Rainfed Area Authority (NRAA) would organise a seminar on January 22 to highlight the importance of convergence of agricultural and business interests.
The seminar would be inaugurated by Minister of Corporate Affairs Salman Khurshid, an official statement said today. "The domain and technology experts in the areas of agriculture sciences, trade and industry chambers, institutions and other stakeholders will participate in the meet to develop synergy to identify methods of developing economic activity in the rainfed areas so as to improve the
income levels of farmers," it said.
Efforts will also be made to encourage the business sector to develop new methods of working so that they can involve farmers and the agricultural output in their business models for mutual value creation, the government said.
