Kolkata: George Telegraph Group, the pioneer of technical education in eastern India today announced their association with PRSI (Public Relation Society of India-Kolkata) regarding their next generation (NEXT GEN) Mass Communication and Public Relations course keeping in view the requirements for a rewarding career in the public relations industry.
Narendra Ranjan Mukerje, chairman-PRSI, Kolkata Chapter, Soumyojit Mahapatra, secretary, PRSI Kolkata Chapter and Subrata Dutta, director, George Telegraph Group, were present to announce the tie-up and also discuss the future plans of the group.
With the public relations industry in India booming and considering the rising importance of PR professionals, the curriculum includes image measurement, exposure to internet journalism, and marketing in digital platform, social networking, and exposure to modern communication gadgets, soft skill development, attitude building and motivation, exposure to events planning and co ordination and social research.
With graduation as the eligibility criteria, these post graduation course will continue for a period of one year with fees of Rs 22, 000 which can be paid in installments.
The students will also get the opportunity to become member of PRSI, thereby providing them with constant interaction with public relation professionals.
According to Subrata Dutta, director, The George Telegraph Group, “We aspire to give the best to our students and therefore we designed the course in a way to keep them ahead. They will participate in various workshops to acquire maximum exposure possible. Our aim will be to gradually take the course to all our centres across eastern India.”
Soumyajit Mahapatra, said, “PR students will learn the modern techniques from the beginning and apply them in industry when they join their jobs resulting improvement of image of respective companies.”
The course will be now only available at George Telegraph centre in Sealdah.
