Blowing away the apprehensions that economic recession will hit campus recruitments for the second consecutive year, Osmania University College of Engineering (OUCE) has created a record of gaining maximum campus placements in its history.
During a eleven-day recruitment drive last week, four major IT giants - Infosys, TCS, Wipro Technologies and Cognizant Technologies Solutions offered placements to 408 students from BE, ME and MCA courses.
While TCS offered jobs to 134 students, Cognizant Technology Solutions recruited 110 students, Infosys chose 87 students and Wipro Technologies offered placements to 77 candidates.
The offer to 134 students by TCS is the highest ever by any company in the history of the college. “It's a good sign for students as well as the industry,” said V. Uma Maheshwar Rao, Placement & Training Officer of OUCE.
