Four colleges get show cause notice

Chennai: 4 colleges affiliated to Anna Varsity would get show cause,as they have failed to meet the varsity's requirements.

In a recent meeting, the Syndicate decided to issue show-cause notices to the PMR Institute of Technology, the GGR College of Engineering, VKK Vijayan Engineering College and Sri Ram Engineering College.

Admission to these colleges may also be prohibited during the coming academic year, they said.

As far as VKK Vijayan and Sri Ram colleges are concerned, only one course was being slapped with the show-cause notice. In case of PMR Institute of Technology was concerned, there was also a case of faculty impersonation, they said.

In fact the Syndicate had decided to issue a show-cause notice to PMR Institute of Technology in February itself, since the university inspection team found evidence that the college management brought employees from a private software company and a school to act as faculty of the college.

Since these colleges do not have sufficient infrastructure or quality faculty on the rolls, the action was being taken against these colleges, the syndicate revealed.
