Hyderabad: NALSAR Law University today entered into an agreement with the National Academy of Construction (NAC) here for promotion of academic co-operation and joint ventures in interdisciplinary programmes of Education, Training and Research.
National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR) Vice-Chancellor Veer Singh and NAC Director General FCS Peter signed a MoU, envisaging co-operation on starting PG diploma and graduate diploma courses, conducting technical seminars and meetings,besides exchange of scientific/technical information, liaison and coordination with industrial, academic, professional and other organisations.
As part of the MoU, to begin with, two correspondence courses, a one-year Graduate Diploma Course in Law of Contract Administration and Real Estate Management for those pursuing B.Tech, and a PG Diploma Course in Law of Infrastructure Management and Disaster Management for B.Tech or BE graduate holders, will commence from June 2010, Veer Singh said.
The purpose is to create a pool of well trained manpower for construction industry that will expand manifold, Veer Singh told reporters after signing the MoU. "After agriculture, construction industry employs largest number of workers. By 2020 as a developed nation we have to make massive investments in construction in order to create infrastructure but there is a acute shortage of persons trained in different trades
