Administrative staff college to be set up by MKU

Madurai: Madurai Kamaraj University will set up an Administrative Staff Training College (ASTC) to train non-teaching staff, a top university official said here today.

University Vice-chancellor R Karpaga Kumarvel said periodical training programmes would be conducted for administration of universities and colleges to benefit all non teaching staff.

Computer training, communication skills, inter-personnel relationships and internet operation would be some aspects of training, he said, adding that the Finance Officer,Deputy Registrar,Assistant Registrar and Superintendents would receive orientation sessions.

Four universities, including Madras University at present have academic staff colleges.
