A three-member team of the Indian School of Business (ISB) has been shortlisted as one of the five finalists in the ‘Case Study Competition 2009' that attracted nearly 500 teams from top business schools in the country. It was conducted by Directi.
Tech strategy
The team consisting of Parag Dhanuka, Prayag Panchwadkar and Anirudh Kumar felt that the contest challenged them with an awesome tech strategy marketing problem. “Brainstorming over many cups of coffee & sleepless nights we realized the immense depth of the topic & were drawn into the contest. Trying to mix innovative solutions with feasibility and curtailing our geeky ideas to fit the core strategy led to many heated debates & great jam sessions. We had to put on the multiple hats of a Product designer, a marketing manager, an advertising executive and finally an end consumer to come up with a good solution,” they said.
Internet market
Parag Dhanuka said It helped them understand the Indian internet market while Prayag Panchwadkar said it gave him the opportunity to put on his pld product manager hat and bite into an immensely chewy problem.
Competitions
Anirudh Kumar said while other competitions were mostly framework driven and based on hypothetical situations, this case study challenged them with a real-world problem and put them in the driving seat for developing high-level business and marketing strategies.
