Bhubaneswar: KIIT University held a national seminar on the industry-institute interface on its campus on December 13.
Dr S N Dash, IAS, secretary, ministry of heavy industries and public enterprises, was the chief guest and inaugurated the function.
Also present were Prof E Balagurusamy, Union Public Service Commission, New Delhi, K Ramamurthy Naidu, commission member, UGC.
Prof (Dr) S C De Sarkar, VC and Dr P N Razdan, Pro-VC, KIIT were at the ceremony.
Dr Dash said that curricula should be developed according to necessities of the market and industry.
Speaking on behalf of UGC, Naidu felt that students and faculty should make more industry visits.
Prof Balagurusamy felt that both industry and institutes needed to communicate better. Faculty training by industry, he explained, could be one way of doing this.
