Chennai: The placement season at the IIT Madras for the year 2009-10 began here with 28 students being recruited by top corporate firms.
Deputy Registrar of Training and Placement, Lt Col (retd) Jayakumar said that about 200 companies had registered for recruitment this year and 28 students being recruited by top corporate firms such as Deutsche Bank, IBM, Morgan Stanley and Hindustan Lever among others on the first day
Around 1100 students had registered for campus recruitment, which began yesterday, he said adding the recruitment drive was expected to continue till the end of January 2010. The pay packets range from Rs 15-24 lakh per annum, he said adding companies including Shell Technology and Microsoft had interviewed students on Thursday.
