Day 3 smoother for Kolkata CAT

Kolkata: Students were apprehensive on Day 3 of the online Common Admission Test on November 30, but it was a smoother day than the previous two days.

There were a number of technical glitches including delays in logging in and blank screens but not the extent of the errors on Saturday and Sunday which saw students crying and stressed out at centres across Kolkata.

Around 170 applicants had their exams cancelled over the weekend. Most are worried about the dates of their next test especially for students with semester exams starting this month.

Prometric, the provider of the test, has been given 10 days to re-schedule the tests. Affected students are sceptical whether Prometric will be able to provide them with a re-test within the specified time.

Even though day three was relatively smooth, students taking the text until December 7 were apprehensive that a glitch may take place while they are sitting for the test.

There were a number of technical errors over the weekend in Kolkata. Some candidates on Saturday, day one of CAT, had to wait for three hours to sit for the test. Others were refused entry or faced system errors and server crashes.

The errors led to candidates in the first batch taking longer to finish the exam. This had a domino effect and students in the second session were asked to come back later.
