Chennai: To check the monetary exploitation of students and parents, the Directorate of Matriculation Schools has prohibited private schools from completing admissions for 2010-11 until results of the annual/board examinations are declared.
With the state government enacting a law to regulate fees, schools hit upon an ingenious idea to circumvent it. Some schools started admitting students, especially to class XI, in a bid to collect fees under various heads before the new structure is fixed.
