Vadodara: National Cadet Corps (NCC) Unit in Vadodara will confer the rank of honorary colonel to MS University's vice-chancellor Ramesh Goyal on Thursday. Goyal will be honoured in the investiture ceremony on the order of director general of NCC India Lieutenant General RK Karwal.
He is being honoured for his distinguished service in the field of academics and research as well the encouragement given to NCC unit within the varsity. Goyal's tipping ceremony will be performed by Colonel Rahul Bali, commander NCC Group, Vadodara, who is also in charge of NCC in south Gujarat. Presiding over the ceremony will be officiating deputy director general of NCC Colonel IS Sahwany.
The ceremony will be held at MSU auditorium in the presence of syndicate and senate members as well as university staffers along with army officers. It's a rare honour that NCC awards to distinguished vice-chancellors of the universities of India.
