New Delhi: Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Prof. V.N. Rajasekharan Pillai has announced that the admissions for the B.Tech. Programme at the university stand suspended for the time being.
After the Union Ministry of Human Resources and Development (MHRD) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) raised an apprehension over engineering programmes through distance education, IGNOU has decided to put admissions to its B.Tech programmes on hold. The issue has not been resolved so far into an official decision.
Recently, the faculty members of the School of Engineering and Technology held a meeting to decide that till the issue is resolved with the MHRD and AICTE the admissions to the course will be deferred.
