Bangalore: Bangalore University will be spanking clean soon. According to N Prabhu Dev, vice-chancellor, Bangalore University, a private housekeeping agency has been hired to clean Jnana Bharathi and Central College campuses, starting October 27.
At the BU syndicate meeting held last Wednesday, BU decided to outsource most of the hostel management process. To this end, the V-C on Monday constituted a three-member committee chaired by professor Ravindran of MES College and two readers from BU. They will check the other hostels to see how they are run.
The committee will submit a report in eight days on three counts, which is important for BU -- administration, admission and introduction of ID cards.
Some of the private-run hostels the committee will visit are Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore, Indian Institute of Science, Christ University, Jyoti Nivas College and St Joseph's. The committee will also visit Mysore University to learn how it has outsourced its policies. "Once the report comes, BU will start tendering process for outsourcing," Dev added.
