Painting competition for students in running train

Puducherry:  More than 800 students of class IV to X from 55 schools participated in a painting competion held in a running train.

The competition, conducted for the tenth year in succession was organised by Puducherry State Artists Society, in a train from Puducherry to Villupuram yesterday.

The theme of competition was 'need to curb air pollution', a spokesman of the society said.

Students from Puducherry, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Chennai, Panruti and Neyveli participated in the event.  Prizes would be given to the winners of the competition, the spokesman said.
