Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) will conduct the CAT 2016 Common Entrance Test on Sunday, December 4. The CAT 2016 exam is conducted for admission in various management programmes.
Aspirants who successfully clear the selection process will get admitted in 20 different IIM institutes.

Systematic CAT 2016 preparation requires thorough knowledge of the exam pattern, as given below:
Paper pattern for CAT 2016:
There would be a total number of 100 questions
Total duration of the examination would be of three hours
The paper would be divided into three sections
Candidates will get one hour to complete each section
For each correct answer, candidates will be given three marks, whereas for incorrect response, 1 mark will be deducted
However, for Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and Numerical Entry Questions (NE), there would be no negative marking

Aspirants wish to apply need to have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university/institute with at least 50 per cent or equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA)
However, aspirants from the reserved category will get relaxation in marks as per government norms
Those candidates appearing for the final year of Bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply only if they submit a certificate from the principal/registrar of their university/institution

Selection process for CAT 2016:
Aspirants will be selected based on the basis of Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) followed by Personal Interviews (PI) round.
