Registration process for the Common Admission Test CAT 2016 closed on September 27 and this year,the number of applicants rose to 2,32,434 compared to last year's 2,18,664, as per the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.
The CAT 2016 examination will be held on December 4.
As per the official notification, the IIMs will conduct CAT in two sessions for admission to various management programmes.

Educational qualification for CAT 2016:
Aspirants who want to appear for the CAT 2016 examination have at least a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised institute/university.
Selection process for CAT 2016:
Aspirants will be selected on the basis of Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) followed by Personal Interviews (PI) round.
Important dates for CAT 2016:
Admit cards will be released on October 18
