Thiruvasagam as Madras University chancellor

Mr Thiruvasagam, former VC of Bharatiyar university,newly appointed as the Vice chancellor of Madras University

State governor Mr Surjeet Singh Barnala  has approved  the Madras University  chancellor Mr G.Thiruvasagam as the vice chancellor to succeed Dr S.Ramachandran.
They said the name of Mr Thiruvasagam, former VC of Bharatiyar university, Coimbatore, was among the three submitted by the search panel headed by Mr M.E.Hussain to identity a suitable candidate to lead the 150year-old university.

The post has been vacant since Dr Ramachandran's retirement on September 5.
