Delhi University has received about 1.29 lakh applications for getting enrolled in the Master's programme courses provided by the university. Delhi University Post Graduate admissions started from April 25, 2016.
For the first time admission test for Delhi University will take place in other parts of the country as well. The exam will take place in six other centres apart from Delhi.
About applications and courses in Delhi University:
About 1.29 lakh students have applied for 69 courses and 51 other departments
1,02, 667 applicants belong to the general category
For research programmes, MPhil and PhD- there are 7,276 applications for 85 courses in 53 departments
Highest number for PG applications have been received from Delhi, while the second highest from UP, followed by Haryana and Bihar
In research, 491 applications from Varanasi have made it the second highest number of applications received.
Applications in specific courses for PG in Delhi University:
Hindi has the highest number of applications in MPhil and PhD
With 389 applications, MPhil in Political Science is the second highest, while Maths (PhD) is third
Interestingly, 71,878 women have applied, against 57,168 men for PG
Around 4,140 women took admission in the research programmes and 3,148 men in the same

There are 54,834 applicants for entrance test in undergraduate courses-30,221 women and 24,632 men
Four candidates from the 'other category' have applied too
Delhi has the highest number of applications in UG, with 50, 013 candidates.
