With the class X results released on May 25, the overall pass percentage showed a marginal rise over the last year’s with 93.6%.
Class X common exam in TN and Puducherry was held in March and April, 2016.
Among the boys the pass percentage was 91.3% as against 95.9% of girls.
7, 33,637 students scored over 60 percentage.
Centum scorers in Maths were 18,754; in Science 18642; and 39.398 in social science.
Overall pass percentage among school students in 2015 was 92.9%, However, the overall pass percentage in 2016 is 93.6%.
Two students in the state has shared the first rank in SSLC board exams in Tamil Nadu by scoring 499 out of 500.

Premsudha, a student SRV Excel Matriculation Higher Secondary school at Rasipuram, Sivakumar R, a student of Noble Mat HSS, Periyavallikulam, have shared the top rank.
2nd Rank Holders
As many as 50 students scored 498 sharing the second rank
3rd Rank Holders
224 students scored 497 sharing the third rank.
In what has become almost regular feature of board exams in TN, large number of students have obtained centum marks.
As many as 39,398 students scored centum in Social Science.
The number of centums in each of the subjects are:
Science - 18,642
Maths - 18,754
Language - 73
English - 51
The state witnessed an overall better pass percentage at 93.6.Totally, 10, 72,225 students took up the exam with 10, 11,919 students taking it up through schools.
5, 07,507 boys appeared for the exam and 5, 04,412 girls appeared for the exam.
