(TANCET) Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test has been extended : interested candidates can apply for appearing in the examination till May 21, 2016.

tancetThe application date for Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) has been extended. Earlier the last date for registration was May 17, 2016.

However, now the interested candidates can apply for appearing in the examination till May 21, 2016.

The TANCET test will be held by the Anna University, Chennai on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu.

The entrance examination is conducted for the candidates who seek admission to MBA, MCA, ME/M.Tech/M. Arch/M.Plan degree programmes.

Educational qualification:

The candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in the respective discipline from a recognised university or institute.

Paper pattern:

For MBA programme:

The question paper will have various sections to evaluate different skills of the candidates such as the candidate's ability to recognise critically the data and apply the data to business decisions from given typical business situations.

Passage based questions:

To solve mathematical problems of graduate level including those learned in plus two or equivalent level
Test on determining data sufficiency
General English
For MCA programmes:

The exam will be based on Quantitative Ability, Analytical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Computer Awareness. A few questions may also be on verbal activity, basic science, etc.
For ME/MTech/MArch/MPlan programmes:

The questions will be set at undergraduate level and the exam will held for a duration of two hours.

The Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) is conducted for taking admissions to Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Computer Applications (MCA), Master of Engineering (M.E), Master of Technology (M.Tech), Master of Architecture (M.Arch), Master of Planning (M.Plan) degree programmes.
