iith Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Hyderabad has invited applications from interested, eligible candidates for admission to the M.Tech programmes in various streams, for the academic year 2016.

Educational qualification for IIT, Hyderabad

The candidates interested in pursuing M.Tech should have the following qualifications, with 60 percent marks for those in general category and 55 percent marks for SC/ST reserved categories:

For Bio Medical Engineering: B.Tech./B.E. in Biomedical, Biotechnology, Electrical, Electronics and communication, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Computer Science and Information Technology, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy and Material Science, Textile Engineering and Fibre Science, Engineering Sciences

M.Sc. or equivalent (2 year) in Physics, Biophysics, Chemistry, Material science, Ceramics, Electronics, Computer Science, Life Sciences , Physiology, Engineering Sciences

MBBS, BDS, B.Pharm, BVSc or equivalent programme with duration of 4 years or more.

For BioTechnology: Candidates with B.Tech or MSc in any branch of life sciences with a valid GATE Score in BT or XL are eligible to apply.

For Chemical Engineering: Candidates who have qualified in GATE 2016 or 2015 can apply.

IIT graduates with B.Tech degree, having CGPA of 8.0 (7.5 for SC/ST) and above can apply without a GATE score. The candidates should have aquired a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture from government approved educational institutes.

For Civil Engineering: Candidates should possess a valid GATE score (2015-2016) in Civil Engineering (for the 2-year programme). Those seeking admission in the 3-year course should have acquired the Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.

For Computer Science and Engineering: The interested candidate must possess a 4-year B.Tech/B.E degree in any engineering discipline or a MSc/MS/MCA degree in the field of computer science (CS/IT), and have an excellent academic record. Those candidates with professional qualifications recognized by AICTE, like AMIE, are also eligible to apply.

The candidate should have demonstrated adequate background in computer science (Valid GATE score in CS/IT)

Selection procedure for IIT, Hyderabad:

The candidates will be selected on the basis of their GATE score and their performance in the interview.

Application fee:

The aspirants have to pay a sum of Rs 300/- in case they are male or from general/OBC category.

For all women candidates and male candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD category, they have to pay Rs 150/- as application fee.
