The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released examination date for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) September 2016. The exam is scheduled for September 18.
The minimum eligibility criteria to attempt the test is mentioned below:
Minimum qualifications for primary stage (Classes 1 to 5):
The candidates applying for this post should have acquired a senior secondary certificate (or its equivalent), having obtained at least 50 percent marks. Also, the candidates should have passed or should be appearing in the final year of 2-year diploma in elementary education.
Minimum Qualifications for Elementary Stage (Classes 6 to 8):
The candidates should be graduates. Also, they should have passed or should be appearing in the final year of two-year diploma in Elementary Education.

The CTET scores shall apply to schools of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Central Tibetan Schools, etc.) and schools under the administrative control of UT's of Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and NCT of Delhi. The exam is conducted for candidates to be eligible for selection as a teacher for classes 1 to 8. CTET scores may also apply to the unaided private schools, who may exercise the option of considering the CTET.
