Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune invites applications for admission to its Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme from eligible candidates

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune has invited applications for admission to Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme offered in Biology, Ecology & Evolution, Chemistry, Earth & Climate Sciences, mathematics and Physics for the session August 2016. The eligible candidates should apply online on or before April 15.

Educational qualification for Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune:
The candidates should have a Master's degree in any branch of Science from a recognised university or institute.

Selection procedure for Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune:
The candidates must have qualified any one of the following exams:

PhD in mathematics programme: NBHM 2015, NBHM 2016, qualified (NET with valid CSIR-JRF/UGC-JRF in mathematics, CSIR/UGC NET-LS in mathematics (Date of passing should be in December 2014 and onwards) or a valid GATE score with all India rank up to 50 in mathematics.

PhD in chemistry programme: Qualified NET with valid CSIR-JRF/UGC-JRF, CSIR/UGC NET-LS (Date of passing should be in year 2015/ 2016), INSPIRE-Ph.D. fellowship or JEST or GATE.

PhD in physics programme: Qualified NET with valid CSIR-JRF/UGC-JRF, CSIR/UGC NET-LS qualified within last 2 years and with rank less than or equal to 500, JEST or GATE qualified with rank less than or equal to 500 or INSPIRE-PhD fellowship holders
