iitropar The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Ropar has invited applications from interested, eligible candidates to apply for its regular Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programmes in Engineering, Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences and Center for Biomedical Engineering for first semester of the commencing academic year.

Eligibility criteria for Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Ropar

Educational qualification for Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Ropar:

Ph.D in Chemistry: The candidates interested in applying for this programme must be holding a Master's or equivalent degree in Chemistry/Bio-chemistry/ Material science and technology/ Pharmaceutical sciences/Biotechnology/ Physics or relevant research areas with a first class (6.5 grades point out of 10) or 60 percent marks (55 percent marks for SC/ST).

Ph.D in Humanities and Social Sciences: The candidates interested in applying for this programme must be holding a Master's or equivalent degree in cognitive science, English literature, Linguistics, Psychology or related discipline with 55 percent (or 6.0 grade point out of 10).

Civil Engineering: The candidates interested in applying for this programme must be holding a Bachelor's degree in Civil engineering followed by a Master's degree in an appropriate area, with a consistently good academic background.

Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering: The candidates interested in applying for this programme must be holding a Master's degree in engineering/technology or a Master's degree by research in engineering/technology. Candidates must have obtained at least 60 percent marks (or 6.5 Grade Point out of 10) (55 percent marks for SC/ST) in their Master's.

Selection procedure for Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Ropar:

A written test followed by an interview will be conducted for shortlisting and final selection of the candidates.

The last date for submission of online application is April 15.

Names of the shortlisted candidates for entrance exam will be displayed on April 27.
