The registration process for KCET Medical was earlier supposed to close on February 13. But now, the date has been postponed and interested and eligible candidates can apply for the same till February 21. The exam will be conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for admission to MBBS and BDS seats in government / university / private aided / private un-aided professional educational institutions in the State of Karnataka.
The application form can be filled in the online mode only. The exam is a state level entrance exam scheduled to be conducted in pen and paper based test for admissions to around 3300 MBBS seats in 42 medical colleges and 830 BDS seats in 38 dental colleges of Karnataka. The exam is scheduled to be conducted on May 4 and 5.
Eligibility criteria for KCET
Educational qualification:
Interested candidates must have obtained a minimum of 50 percent marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology subjects. While SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates must have 40 percent marks. Candidates must also have passed in second PUC / Class 12 / equivalent exam with English as one of the languages.
Those who will be appearing in Class 12/HSC exam are also eligible for the exam but their admission will be considered only after fulfillment of eligibility criteria.
Age limit for KCET:
candidates must be of 17 years of age on before December 31, 2016.
Paper pattern for KCET
The exam will be conducted on two consecutive days. Paper 1, consisting of Biology will be held on May 4, while Paper 2, consisting of Physics and Chemistry, will be held on May 5.
