The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore has released an admission notification, inviting interested and eligible candidates to enroll for its Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) research programme. Students who complete the requirements for the award of the Bachelor of Science (Research) degree will have the option of getting a M.Sc degree by studying at the institute for a fifth year.
Six major disciplines are offered, namely: Biology, Chemistry, Earth & Environmental Science, Materials, Mathematics, and Physics.
Eligibility criteria for admission to Indian Institute of Science (IISc)
Educational qualification:
Interested candidates should have completed Class 12 (or equivalent) examination in 2015 or expecting to complete in 2016. They must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects in Class 12 (or equivalent) along with other main or subsidiary subjects.The candidates must have secured a first class or 60 per cent or equivalent grade (relaxed to pass class for SC/ST candidates) in the qualifying examination.
Selection procedure for Indian Institute of Science (IISc)
A merit list will be prepared on the basis of one of the following national examinations:
KVPY-SA (appeared in 2014 and selected for the fellowship)
KVPY-SB (appeared in 2015 and selected for the fellowship)
KVPY-SX (appeared in 2015 and selected for the fellowship)
KVPY fellows selected through the Empowerment Initiative for SC/ST candidates, IIT-JEE-Main
IIT-JEE-Advanced
AIPMT
