A Bangalore based boy, Parakh Bansal, grabbed 97.99 percentile in this year's CAT results

iimcat A Bangalore based boy, Parakh Bansal, who scored 27 percentile in the Common Admission Test (CAT) in the year 2013, has grabbed 97.99 percentile in this year's CAT results.

Bansal, who is currently working at WIPRO for over 30 months now, attempted the exam five times in a row. According to him, "Patience, Concentration and Confidence are the three factors required to crack CAT".

Though his friends call him a fighter, the boy however, in a humble tone says, "I don't deserve the title unless the result gets converted into a call from IIMs or any other reputed B-school."

Bansal, who completed his graduation in Electrical & Electronics in 2012 from SRM University, Chennai, says that he used to regularly attempt mock sessions. However, more of his time would be utilised to assess the practice paper after its completion. He informs, "Not only did I attempt mock test papers that helped me a lot, I also did a SWOT analysis thereafter, to figure out my strengths and weaknesses. It helps a lot, you get to know what you are lacking and where."

To all the aspirants who have secured a low percentile this year, he says, "Do not give up. If it's your dream, passionately follow it."

Bansal added, "I did not give up despite being frustrated several times. Even my parents had got frustrated at a certain point. But none of us lost calm."
He fondly remembers how his dad, an IES officer in Indian Railways, had once asked him to attempt GMAT and drop the idea of CAT. But, this made him more focused about achieving his dream. He confidently said, "It's not as difficult as people make it appear. It might take time, though. Every exam is about picking the right question."

Besides, Parakh has scored 97.54 percentile in the SNAP results declared this morning.
