MKU to offer P G course in parent education

Madurai: MKU offer P G Degree course in parent education through its distance education programme in vernacular language, VC, Karpaga Kumaravel said.

Talking to reporters here today he claimed MKU(Madurai Kamaraj University) would be the first university in the country to introduce the course which would focus on various aspects that parents should know including legal issues that parents should know while sending their children to school, family transformation, relatioships and chid psychology.

The university also planned to open women study centre. Application of new technology would come to force in all the departments and on-line tracking facilities would be provided to research scholars to know about the fate of their papers.

The university's 43rd convocation would be held on Octber 13 when scientist N.Vedachalam of Indian Space Research Organisation would be conferred degree of Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa).

The University would also take steps to activate Patent Information cell to create awareness among researchers of patent filing process,
