The eighth Indo-Global Educational Summit 2015 will be held for two days from November 15. The Federation of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce & Industry and the Indus Foundation said that the summit will witness the participation of 35 foreign universities, besides the Indian institutions.
Indo-Global Educational Summit 2015 will explore the opportunities for collaborations between foreign universities and Indian institutions. It is especially outlined for educational entrepreneurs, vice-chancellors, provosts, deans, faculty, enrollment officers and their colleagues. The Indo-Global Educational Summit 2015 will have sessions on collaborative research programmes, joint/dual degree programmes, twinning and transfer programmes, distance education and vocational education programmes, faculty and students exchanges, study abroad in India programmes and other academic partnerships, C D Arha, Chairman of the Indus Foundation.
The fields which will be majorly covered in Indo-Global Educational Summit 2015 are Engineering and Applied Sciences, Information and Technology, Business and Management, Clinical and Health Sciences, Life Sciences and Biomedicine, Agricultural Sciences, Physical Sciences, Environment and Natural Resources, Education and Teacher Training, Arts and Humanities and Social Sciences, he added.
He further said, ''There will be one-on-one meetings between representatives of Indian institutions/organisations and those of foreign universities for forging academic collaborations. Recent trends indicate that US and other countries are keen to establish connections with the new powerhouse economy of India - not only in downstream industries but also in upstream Science. Higher educational institutions can play a major role in research collaborations. A good number of universities and colleges in India that have research programme can take an advantage of opportunities for capacity building for research in collaboration with visiting foreign Universities.''
The theme of the Indo-Global Educational Summit 2015 conference will be 'Educational Excellence Without Borders'. For the very first time, a delegation of universities from Sudan is likely to participate in the Summit. However, their participation will be subject to security clearance by Ministry of External Affairs, informed S B Anumolu, president of The Indus Foundation.
