Indian Institute of Management (IIM) is considered premier institute of management studies in India with IIM-Ahmedabad topping the charts amongst all IIMs. However, in the Economist's full-time MBA ranking, IIM Ahmedabad has slipped to 60th rank this year from 48th rank last year.
The Institute has, however, topped the list of highest GMAT scores at business schools, followed by rank 9 Stanford University - Graduate School of Business and rank 11 University of Pennsylvania - Wharton School at second and third rank respectively. The IIM-Ahmedabad is the only institute from India which has made it to the Economist's full-time MBA ranking. The institute has been ranked 6th in the region, again, dropping from first rank last year.
IIM-Ahmedabad has made the drop in past two years from 39th rank in 2013 to 48th rank in 2015 and 60th in the current year. The year 2013 has been the best year for IIM Ahmedabad ranking in past five years. Earlier in 2012 and 2011, the institute ranked 58 and 76 respectively. The S P Jain School of Global Management, a Singapore-based institute has also made it to the list at 95 rank.
University of Chicago - Booth School of Business, University of Virginia - Darden School of Business, Dartmouth College - Tuck School of Business, Harvard Business School and HEC School of Management, Paris have made it to top five of the Economist full-time MBA ranking list for the year 2015.
The Economist also releases the rankings of top Executive MBA, top 10 female enrolment, top 20 Europe, top 10 GMAT score etc list every year to determine best management schools in the world, internationally.
