CAT 2015 Exam Registration: 80 Transgenders Registered

cat This year the number of candidates who have registered for the CAT 2015 Registration has increased to an unbelievable extent. The Common Admission Test (CAT) will be conducted by the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A)

The registrations for the CAT 2015 ended on September 25 and total 2,18,664 applications for CAT 2015, have been received by the IIMs.

According to a report in Times of India, 1.38 lakh candidates have registered to take the competitive exam. The CAT 2015 exam is scheduled to be conducted on November 29 in two sessions, in 136 test cities and at 650 test venues. The results for the CAT 2015 will be declared in the second week of January.

This year onwards, CAT 2015 has made a few changes in the examination pattern i.e. the duration of the exam has been increased to 10 minutes and new section have been added i.e. Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR). The paper will be segregated into three sections i.e. Quantitative Aptitute (QA), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Verbal & Reading Comprehension (VRC).

For the first time in the history of CAT, transgenders have registered for the CAT 2015 exam. It has been after 5 years that such huge number of registrations have been observed. As per newspaper reports, of the total CAT 2015 registrations, males accounted for 1,49,408; females 69,176 and there were 80 transgenders as well.

In 2014, 1.89 lakh registrations were recorded. The number of registrations was recorded as 1.95 lakh in 2013, 2.14 lakh in 2012, 2.05 lakh in 2011, suggest the available figures.
