on Thursday, The office of the deputy director of education, issued a show cause notice to Sardar Dastur Junior College in Pune based on a complaint from a parent, whose son or daughter was refused admission despite his ward got a seat through the online admission process for first year Pune junior college (FYJC, class XI).
Deputy director of education, Ramchandra Jadhav, issued the notice to Sardar Dastur Junior College based on a complaint made by one Shubhangi Patil, was allotted a seat in the sixth round of the centralised admission process. In her complaint, Patil stated that when she sought admission in the Pune Junior college, she was told that no seats were vacant.
The girl's parents further said that an official of the Pune Junior College even demanded donation for admission and when they approached the principal, she simply said that the admissions were already full. "We have issued a notice and sought an explanation from the college as well as warned them of administrative action if the explanation is not submitted within the next three days," Jadhav stated.
In the meantime, the admission process has entered into the sixth round. Students, who have recently passed the SSC supplementary exam, will also be accommodated in the process. Colleges have, therefore, decided to take classes on Saturdays as well as during Diwali vacation so that the syllabus can be completed soon.
