The All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) has decided to conduct the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) online exam only once in a year. This decision is set to be executed from the next academic year, i.e. 2016-17. Currently the CMAT Exam is being conducted twice a year.
Initially the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) exam was decided to be held in September, bit it has been postponed and now the candidates will be writing the exam in January 2016. "Since 2012, AICTE is conducting CMAT twice in an academic session during September and February for admission to PG programmes in management. But, from next academic year Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) Exam will be conducted once in a year. For CMAT scheduled in January 2016, a notification will be announced soon," said Avinash S. Pant, the Vice-Chairman of AICTE.
In the month of July, the council had informed that it will provide information about Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) Exam in the first week of August. The official notification for CMAT Exam which is expected in the month of September might be delayed, too. The aspirants will be informed about their roll number, admit cards, test date, reporting time at the venue, venue name, venue address,test time as well as brief instructions during the exam.
(Common Management Admission Test) CMAT Exam is a national-level competition Exam to select suitable candidates for admission in all management programmes affiliated to AICTE. It will be the main exam for Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) programmes for the academic year 2015-16.
