In the midst of all the controversy around FTII admission test and Gajendra Chauhan, the admission test for the academic year 2015-2016 will be conducted on August 23.
The authorities and officials who have been making efforts to keep the FTII admission test and procedure in place so the next academic year and future admissions do not get affected because of the agitation by the current batch of students.
This is not the first time that FTII had to face such a situation. Officials said that there have been years when strikes have gone on affecting the academic cycle worst and sometimes, the institute has also seen no admissions.
The written test for FTII admission, which was scheduled for August 9 is now rescheduled and will be conducted on Sunday, August 23..
Meanwhile, the government has also accepted the resignation of film-maker Jahnu Barua, Cinematographer Santosh Sivan and Actor Pallavi Joshi as members of the FTII Society.
To solve this issue, the government has also requested the FTII students to attend classes and not to stop academic process, saying that government is willing to start discussions with few of the students to end the strike.
The I & B Ministry has also announced it clear to the students that Chauhan's appointment will not be considered, again. It has also offered to address the issues of fee and infrastructure and assured students that they would be equal partners in the process. The students have put their foot down and also turned down the offer from government.
