The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is conducting the UPSC Engineering Services Examination (ESE-2015) today. The exam will be held for recruiting candidates for services in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.
To appear for the the UPSC Engineering Services Examination, the candidates must have completed their graduation in the discipline of Engineering, or they should have obtained their M.Sc degree in Engineering. For a few specific posts, studying Wireless Communications, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as special subjects will be acceptable as well. The interested and eligible candidates will be tested on the basis of a written examination followed by a personality test.
The UPSC Engineering Services Examination exam is being conducted in three parts:
Part I will be an objective-type question paper that will test the students on their General Ability (General English and General Studies).
Part II and III will judge the students on the basis of their knowledge in the Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Tele-Communication Engineering. Both the sections will be in the objective-type format and will consist of 200 marks each.
Parts IV and V will also evaluate the students on the basis of their knowledge in the Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Tele-Communication Engineering. These parts will be in the conventional (subjective) format, and will also carry 200 marks each. After passing the exam, the candidates will be required to submit the proof of their passing-certificate to be filled up at that stage itself, which will lead them to the Personality Test, which will comprise of 200 marks, as well.
