Students from Bengaluru have excelled in CET 2015, topping the six of the seven streams. However, Bengaluru's overall ratings have dropped, with 39 students in the top 10 ranks across the seven streams, down from 45 last year. Priya Narwal of Army Public School, K Kamaraj Road, has secured the first rank in medical/dental and in Bachelor of Veterinary Science streams. She has also secured the third rank in the Indian System of Medicine and Homeopathy (ISMH).
Two Horanadu candidates made a mark in the CET. Swagat S Yadawad of Guru Junior College, Hyderabad, has secured the top rank in engineering, and Mrinalini Bangalore Mahesh of DPS Modern Indian School, Doha, has come fifth in architecture. CET results were announced on Monday.
Though more students — 1.53 lakh — appeared for CET 2015 than last year (1.39 lakh), the number of candidates who made the cut for medical seats has come down from 21,257 last year to 19,275. Interestingly, there has been a big rise in the number of students qualifying for ISMH and engineering streams. As many as 85,407 students are eligible for ISM/Homeopathy seats, up from 69,507 last year; 1,12,423 students have qualified for engineering, up from 96,161 last year.
