“RAMALINGASWAMI” Re-entry fellowship” is a recent scheme of department of Bio-technology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology Government of India. The Indian Nationals working in overseas research Institutions are eligible to apply for this.
The schemes announces research in the areas of bio-technology including agriculture, health science, bio-engineering, energy, environment, bio informatics and other related areas.
The objective of the scheme is to attract talented Indian national who are in overseas countries.
The aspiring candidates should have Ph.D, M.D, M.Tech, M.V.Sc or equivalent qualification. They should have sending the records. They also should have at least 3 years post doctoral research experience. They should have served in the overseas labs in the last 2 years. Those who have already returned to India with in 1 year of the last date of this application.
The age limit is 55 years.
This fellowship is a senior fellowship and awardees can be treated as the faculty or scientists at Scientist +D level.
They can take up teaching or can undertake research assignments and supervising doctorate or MS Students.
The selected members are entitled to get marks remuneration of Rs.85000/- in addition a House Rent Allowance of Rs.75000/- marks. The candidates will get a research or consistency grant of Rs.10.00 lacs for the I year, Rs.7.50 lacs, for the second year and Rs.5.00 lacs for the subsequent 3 year to buy consumables, minor equipments, international or domestic travel engaging man power and to face other contingent expences to be incurred in the research process.
The fellowships are for 5 years, which can be extended for another term on fresh appraised of performance.
