Will there be Single Entrance Examination for Admissions in Karnataka?

As on date in Karnataka, the Karnataka examination Authority and comedk conducts separate entrance tests for admissions. Comedk is a body of private managements, what stands for consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental colleges of Karnataka.

As expected it is not possible that the Karnataka professional Education Institution, reputations of Admissions and determination of fee act 2006 may not be implemented for the academic year 2015-16. There is no sign of its implementation as such. If it is implemented there will be a single Entrance Test for Engineering, medicine and other professional courses. Higher Education Minister R.V.Deshpande need two meeting with private minority Institutions and other private colleges regarding this and said that to among the act, a formula is needed. According to the minster, the process creating a formula is under progress. The students unions have objected the act saying that it’s implemented will lead to different fees for different colleges. It is expected that even students who get government seats in Government quota have to pay higher fees.
