It is proposed to form a Nutrino Lab in Bodi mountains at Theni district at a cost of Rs.1500 crores. This is the first Nutrino lab in the country.
It is known that Nutrino is the basic constituent of the Universe. It is a particle which float below earth and inside the sun without any Interruption. Using this research, it is possible to know about the wealth below the earth and also about the core of the sun.
In the proposed lab, Nutrinos will be split from the objects and then will be collected. By this process, learning more about Nutrinos will be possible.
The approval for this proposal is yet be sanctioned by Central Government of India.
At this juncture, an assembly of 1989 students of IIT took place in Chennai. Professor of Physics. Prabulla Betora participated in the program and he explained about the useful of proposed Nutrino lab in Tamil Nadu for the students of this state.
Many Educational Institutions including Madurai Kamarajar University and American college are included in this project. Madras University since using researches in Physics.
