The prevailing strict VISA norms reduced the students travelling to UK universities for studies. As such, 15% in the number of students coming from India to study in UK has reduced. To change this scenario and welcome more students for studying in U.K. Universities the UK is sending a minister to India. Greg Clark will lead a team of vice chancellors of important universities in UK. The top personalities of universities of UK, a representative organization for the UK’s universities who is coming with the minister told, it was a good opportunity to form good higher education links between the two countries. The motive behind this visit is to attract quality students and teaching faculties to UK.
It is stressed by the delegates that international students in U.K, can still work for 20 hours a week during their period of studies in UK. This is a good opportunity for the students to work, earn and study. It is also stressed that Britain is one of the most attractive destinations for the students to study.
Regarding the number of students migrating for higher studies is concerned, India stands in the second position, following China As on date 22,385 Indian students have enrolled for higher studies. To improve the quality of Education academically, culturally and economical a warm and cordial welcome is given by the delegation team.
Prof Snowdon, while speaking said that they have optimistic experience during study period for the students in United Kingdom and the reputation and fame of the UK universities are good. Lord Billimoria also takes part in the team as the delegate of India origin entrepreneur and chancellor of Birmingham.
