Securities aspects in Mark Sheet has become the necessity in to-day's situation. The University Grants Commission asked the Universities across the country to consider to follow. Security Features in Mark Sheets to follow Uniformity and transparency.
This initiative is undertaken by University of Mumbai. The Security features of mark sheets are unique colour, photos of the candidates, QR or barcoder, Hologram and water Marker.
Jaspal Sereltu, the secretary for UGC's wrote to the vice chancellors of 680 universities appreciated the good steps of University of Mumbai to ensure safety measures and uniformity in the Mark Sheets. In the letter he added that the system would help eliminate duplicity of mark sheets and enable easy verification by various authorities and employing organisation.
He also suggested this kind of security system to other universities also. University of Noida took this initiative after it found 627 candidates had produced bogus certificates from 2006 to 2009.
In Tamil Nadu,Anna University which is the co-ordinating agency for single window counselling system for Engineering Admission which introduced online system found the candidates are submitting bogus certificates.
The state school education department recently started issuing board exam mark sheets with unique QR coder and candidates Photos.
In fact now there are needs to verify marksheet because of repeated mal practices. There are other digital mechanisms, other than photos to do their so, photograph are not the only mechanisms of verification.
Regarding University of Madras is concerned, it has set a separate verification centre to verify the validity of the documents given by the students
