IIEST – Inaugurated:

IIEST stands for Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology. The 158 year old Bengal Engineering and Science University (BESU) is converted into IIEST.

President of India Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated this Institute on Aug-2014.

IIEST at Shibpur (Howrah) becomes an institute of National Importance.

The institute will work towards some global challenges persist today in the areas of diverse as renewable energy, water technology, medical and environmental sciences. It will also concentrate us, Disabler management, clean coal technology, power electronics, remote sensing and GIS, space technology, bio chemical sensors, structural Engineering, VLST and embedded system.

SECOND SCHOOL OF MINES IN N.E.

Indians second school of mines is being set up. In North East in collaboration with the Govt. of Queensland, Australia, to provide skilled and technical manpower to the coal mining industry.
